Formed by local schoolteachers in 1897, Northampton Town Football Club has become a proud and enduring name in English football. From its early years in the Northamptonshire and Southern Leagues, the Cobblers progressed through every level of the professional game, including spells in the First Division. For almost a century the club called the County Ground home, where generations of supporters watched players including Fanny Walden, Louis Page, Tommy Fowler, Cliff Holton and Trevor Morley. Managers such as Herbert Chapman, Bob Dennison and Graham Carr also played important roles in the club's colourful history.
Published in 2000, this pictorial history contains more than 200 images celebrating Northampton Town and its heritage. Action photographs, team groups, player portraits, cartoons, programme covers and rare items of memorabilia combine to tell the story of the Cobblers, including material that had never previously been published.
