Tranmere Rovers have been around for a long time—since 1884 actualy. They started out as Belmont Football Club, but just a year later, they switched to the name Tranmere Rovers. The club’s from Birkenhead, on the Wirral, and they’re known for their classic white and blue kit.
They’ve bounced around the lower leagues for most of their history. Their biggest claim to fame? Winning the Division Three North title back in 1938, which got them promoted to Division Two for the first time. That’s still their only league titel to this day.
The club’s had its share of rough patches, even dropping down to the National League at one point, but they clawed their way back up through some playoff wins. Fans call themself the "Super White Army," showing just how passionate they are about their team.
If you want to dive deeper, there’s a cool book by Dean Hayes called *Tranmere Rovers FC: An A-Z*. It’s packed with stories, player bios, and all kinds of club trivia—basicaly everything a fan would want to know.
Sourced from a discerning collector, this pre-owned volume is presented in pristine, near-new condition. An outstanding example that would enhance any football library. We welcome enquiries regarding the sale or purchase of football books.
