Last Boy of ’66: My story of England’s World Cup winning team
by Sir Geoff Hurst

England gets four. Hurst gets three. Pictures of us having a good time have entered the country's photo collection. trophy high, grinning into the future. Banksy, George, Jack, Mooro, Ray, Nobby, Bally, Bobby, Martin, and Roger are my ten teammates. My ten associates. My former companions. Now, they've all vanished. Heroes from a vanishing period are disappearing before our eyes. However, it's not finished. Not quite yet. One of them remains, and before he departs, Geoff wishes to write down his parting thoughts on 1966. He discusses Alf Ramsay, highlighting his vision, ambition, and commitment. In addition, he was awkward and shy. His teammates are devoted professionals who work hard and maintain their composure, especially Jimmy Greaves. Geoff narrates their narrative as a group, delving deeper to consider their triumph and how it affected their life. For the Boys of '66, it was a journey of bittersweet goodbyes. They let their team go unnoticed and wasted their heritage. However, what the eleven of them had in common was something no other Englishman had ever known. For the final time, Geoff gathers them all together to see their historic moment.
