Notts County The Magpies
Followed by a turbulent EFL season
by Roger King

Notts County - 'The Magpies' - a football club with a proud history; just one of the twelve original members of the Football League in 1888. Yet in 2019, they were to experience the ignominy of relegation from the league, major financial difficulties, and even the possibility of going out of existence. Roger King, a dedicated supporter of the club for many years, has provided a meticulous account of their journey in the following five years - a riveting story of their initial despair, before hope and hard work led the club to the eventual triumph of their return to the forefront of our national game.
ABOUT THE AUTHOR: For ten years Neil Vacher was club secretary at AFC Bournemouth, one of many different roles he has undertaken at the club since first watching them as a young boy in the early 1960s. Currently the club’s official historian, Neil has contributed articles for the match programme and other club publications for many years and is also the author of MacDouGOAL: The Ted MacDougall Story, also published by Pitch.
